I'm feeling like a gnome,
my heart is made of stone
and I'm going nowhere fast.
I try to move myself
but I just can't get around.
My feet are buried deep under the ground
A blade of grass so tall and wide
it could surely touch the sky,
if only I could try.
Instead I must keep watch,
even though I know what's next
I'll never see the world past this fence.
The yard's not what it used to be
and nothing's come from these seeds.
Now it's lost
in a growing bed of weeds.
Forever forced to fix my gaze
over as lawn that's past it's prime
with hopes to see it bloom again in time.
wish someone could pick me up
I know I've had more than enough
of scene that I've seen for years and years
least you could do is take me far from here
These Brighton post-punks keep their music intense and minimal but it retains the joyful, jumpy feel of fizzy guitar pop. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 13, 2022
This Pittsburgh band's gloriously messy mash-up of post-punk, garage rock, and shoegaze is snotty enough to be considered plain old punk. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 2, 2022
A pair of revved-up songs from the L.A. group Cuffed Up with the snarl of punk and the noisiness of vintage Sonic Youth. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 16, 2019
